Beth Achim's merger lets Barry Levine
slow the pace of being husband, father, farmer,

Beth Achim
— he acted with local theater groups.
"There was a time when I was either
acting or rehearsing for a play," he said.
During those years he moved away from
Orthodoxy and decided he felt more
comfortable with Conservative Judaism.
In the early 1970's, Levine met his
future wife, Patricia, a student teacher
he was supervising. She already had
four young children —two daughters
and twin sons — from a previous
marriage, but that was not a problem
for Levine.
