Children's Tributes
To Their Dads

Happy Fatherir, Day

Robby Silverman of West Bloomfield
with his son, Blake, to whom he sends
this love letter:
"Blake, this Father's Day means so
much more to me than last. Every day
is so much more meaningful. I am
thankful for eve?) , day I look into
your beautiful brown eyes. Your smile
lights up my life.
"Thank you, Blake, for fighting
the horrific disease you were afflicted
with last December [Blake was diag-
nosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma, a
rare form of cancer.] Thank you,
Blake, for your wonderful attitude
and your determination to rid your
body of the monster who invaded it.
The past four months you weathered
your treatments like a true warrior
going into battle. I wish for the day
when any parent will not have to
worry about this sickening disease.
Thank you, Blake, for all the energy
you exert every day. "Your mother
and I are very thankful to see you
play with the same vigor you dis-
played before your battle.
"This Father's Day, and yesterday
and tomorrow and forever, I am truly
thankful for every day you are in my
life. Blake, you are and always will be
my hero."
