Eilu v' Eilu, the adult Jewish learn-
ing project, will host a summer
Hebrew open house 7 p.m. Thurs-
day, June 25, at Borders Books &
Music, 34300 Woodward Avenue,
Birmingham. No reservations are
required.
Open House attendees will receive
a complimentary coffee or tea cour-
tesy of Borders. Instructor Ahuva
Newman will meet prospective stu-
dents and discuss levels of study,
class schedules, tuition fees, and
other details.
Proposed classes would meet for
,\,!wo hours at a time on Monday
and/or Thursday nights for six
weeks, in a private home in South-
field. Minimum enrollment is
required. A smaller, intensive semi-
nar format is also possible, at an
adjusted tuition fee.

Names Leaders
Congregation Shir Tikvah's (CST's)
membership and teens held elections
for the upcoming year. The 1998-99
board of trustees is as follows: execu-
tive committee: president, Dr. Marla
Scafe; first vice president, Joan Slyk-
er; second vice president, Janet
\Schenk; treasurer, Jon Gleit; corre-
"Tsponding secretary, Joan Littman;
and recording secretary, Carolyn
Davidson. Trustees: Joyce Bayer, Dan
Brunell, Nancy Gross (Sisterhood),
Gail Jutkowitz, Elli Kloc, Cary Levy,
Dave Simpson, and Pam Spitzer.
Service awards were presented to
Jim Starr for his service over more
than 10 years; Adam Kollin for his
`-'efforts on the Capital Campaign
Committee; Ron Elkus and Lynn
Medow for their work as co-chairs
for the RENT fund-raiser; and
Chris and Dave Wattenberg for
their cumulative work on religious
rituals and numerous other endeav-

CST's teens, the Troy Area Tern-
Jle Youth (TATY) group, also held

comprised of: president, Ben Tur-
bow; religious and cultural vice pres-
ident, Justin Racklin; programming
vice president, Eden Kobernick;
social action vice president, Milton
Katz; treasurer, Laura Fletcher; and
