The opening segment of the show,
planned to pack an emotional punch,
strays outside the idea of the greatest
films. It includes film images beyond
the ones selected as best.

premiered — "Ticket to Dream,"
written by Marvin Hamlisch with
Marilyn and Alan Bergman.
"In my opinion, it is the definitive
movie memory song," Smith said. "Prob-
ably, the most lovely way of saying [what
it means to go to see a movie] is that
you're getting 'a ticket to dream.' "
