While leaving Hollywood and par-

Douglas is enjoying his acting career.
He will next be seen in a World War
II movie, U571, directed by Jonathan
Mostow.
"I get to play the commander of a
submarine," he reports. "It's nice to look
forward to being a hero." ❑
