meet the outdoor pool at the Kahn
JCC on July 8, Aug. 12 and Sept. 9.
Ruth Bergman will teach another
poolside class, "Women, Childbirth,
and the Well of Living Waters" on
July 15.
Nehama Glogower will host the
program "King David the Warrior
Poet," which will trace his life and
accomplishments, on Wednesdays
from July 1 to Aug. 5.
The library is also running a sum-
mer reading program for children 2 1/2
to 6-years-old. Sign-up starts June 15.
Solomon said the library gets more
use than she would have expected for
a collection that is entirely Judaic.
"We get a lot of people who come in

after they work out to check the
newspapers or pick up a book," she
said.
"I don't have a lot of quiet time,"
she added. "For a small library, I'm
impressed with how many books that
are in demand."
Moving to the Information
Highway won't be the library's first
multi-media excursion. It has already
expanded into video tapes and audio
books, and Solomon wants to bolster
the children's collection of video and
audio tapes.
But it does not intend to forget the
traditional written word. Earlier this
month, Barbara and Douglas Bloom
gave the library $2,000 for books for
its Jewish mystery section. [1]

Weitzer. "But they are among a nice
group of staff and laypeople who under-
stands where the Center wants to be."
Lipsey, who's been with the Center
for 2 1/2 years, is leaving Detroit for
personal reasons. With no luck in
finding a job at another JCC, she
decided to go to Israel to study next
year. She plans on leaving in August.
As a department head, Lipsey was
responsible for supervising seven full-
and part-time staff. She was responsi-
ble for organizing and overseeing one
of the JCC's busiest weeks annually:
the Jewish Book Fair.
