The Ark presents a blend of Hebrew-folk melodies and contemporary jazz
performed by the Jeff Haas Trio. Haas, son of Detroit legend Karl Haas and an
accomplished pianist and composer, will be joined by trio members Chuck Hall
on bass and John Knight on drums, and special guests Marcus Belgrave on
trumpet, Marvin Kahn on alto-clarinet and Rob Smith on saxophones and

Cafe Europa and the Yiddish Film Series present two showings of this year's
Academy Award-winning documentary, The Long Way Home. The film examines
the lives and the struggle of the tens of thousands of displaced Jewish refugees in

Author Charles Lichtman will be signing copies of his debut-thriller, The Last
Inauguration, a what-if story of espionage and terrorism, at Barnes & Noble in

and address such issues as terrorist threats against America and the Israeli/Arab
peace process. He also will sign books at the Grosse Pointe Barnes & Noble 7-9
