Bar/Bat Mitzvahs
Evan Budaj
Evan Nicholas Budaj will be called to
the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday,
June 6, at Congregation B'nai Moshe.
Evan is the son of
Diane and Steven
Budaj. He is the
grandson of Al
and Estelle Barg,
Magda Budaj and
the late Nick
Budaj.
Evan is an
honor student at
Orchard Lake
Middle School. He plays clarinet in the
school symphony band and also plays
piano. He enjoys computers, biking,
snowboarding and roller hockey. One of
Evan's mitzvah projects included volun-
teering at Yad Ezra.
Lisa Rasansky
Lisa Jill Rasansky will celebrate her bat
mitzvah on Saturday, June 6, at Mat
Shalom Synagogue. Lisa is the daughter
of Cheryl and Ron Rasansky and the
sister of Michael.
She is the grand-
daughter of Max-
ine and William
Stoler, and the late
Sylvia and Harry
Rasansky.
Lisa attends
West Hills Middle
School and enjoys
dance, volleyball,
basketball and soccer. This summer she
will be going to Camp Tanuga and will
participate on the girls basketball team
for the Macabbi Games. For her mitz-
vah project, Lisa donated,money to
JARC and books to the Pontiac Osteo-
pathic Hospital Free Pediatric Clinic.
Lindsay Miller
Lindsay Ilene Miller will be called to
the Torah on Saturday, June 6, as she
becomes a bat mitzvah and recites the
Haftorah Naso, as did her father, at
Congregation Ahavas Israel in Grand
Rapids.
Lindsay is the
daughter of Paula
and Edward Miller
and the sister of
Danielle and Sam.
She also is the
granddaughter of
Alan and Anne
Miller of Skokie,
Ill., and Sidney
and Millie Miller of Grand Rapids.
Proud great-grandparents are Harry
Miller and Sidney and Ethel Rieff of
Chicago.
For her mitzvah project, Lindsay vol-
unteered at Lake Michigan Academy
for Dyslexic Kids, where she helped
organize the library and worked with
the students. Lindsay is a seventh grader
at Excel Charter Academy in Grand
Rapids. She will attend Camp Ramah
for the third consecutive summer. This
year Lindsay was awarded the B'nai
Mitzvah Scholarship from Ahavas Israel.
Rachel Snider
Rachel Beth Snider will be called to the
Torah as a bat mitzvah at Mat Shalom
Synagogue on Saturday, June 6.
Rachel is the daughter of Drs. Harri-
et and Lloyd Snider and sister of
Bradley and Jaclyn. She is the grand-
daughter of Esther
Pelton and Mar-
garet Snider, and
the late Abraham
Pelton and the late
Reuben Snider.
Rachel is an
honor student at
Orchard Lake
Middle School.
She plays violin in
her school orchestra. She enjoys read-
ing, biking, babysitting and baking.
As part of her mitzvah project,
Rachel volunteered her services to Yad
Ezra, feeding the homeless, and she
donated funds to Yad Ezra.
Andrew Banooni
Andrew Boby Banooni of Bloomfield
Hills will be called to the Torah as a bar
mitzvah at Congregation Shaarey Zedek
on Saturday, June
6. Andrew is the
son of Dr. Firooz
and Rana Banooni
and brother of
Amy and Armand.
He is a grandson
of Kh.ody and
Helen Nathan and
of the late Isaac
and Sara Banooni.
Andrew is a seventh-grade honor stu-
dent at Hillel Day School. His favorite
subjects are science and math. Andrew
speaks English, Farsi (Persian), and
Hebrew fluently. He is studying French
in school as an extra subject. Andrew's
hobbies are traveling, skiing, swimming,
playing soccer and baseball. He likes to
play the piano, enjoys reading and loves
computers.
At school, he participates in several
extra-curricular activities. As a member
