THE WORLD'S GREAT STORYTELLERS.

The Peter and Clara Weisberg Con-
cert celebrating 50 years of Israeli
statehood will take place June 17, at
7:30 p.m., at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek.
The Shaarey Zedek choirs will per-
form along with the Madrigal Chorale
of Southfield and the Zamir Chorale
of Metropolitan Detroit. Local musi-
cians, many from the Detroit Sym-
phony Orchestra, will accompany the
combined choirs, conducted by Mati
Lazar.
The evening will include solo per-
formances by Cantor Chaim Najman
of Congregation Shaarey Zedek, Can-
tor Nathan Lam of the Stephen S.
Wise Temple in Los Angeles, Eugene
Zweig, director of the Shaarey Zedek
Synagogue Choir, and Deena Weis-
berg, director of the Shaarey Zedek
Youth Choir.
Tickets for the concert, which are
free of charge, may be obtained by

B'nai Kith Marshall-Suburban-Tik-
vah Lodge will hold its monthly meet-
ing 2 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at the
Trowbridge, 2411 Civic Center Drive,
Southfield.
Following the meeting at 3 p.m.,
there will be a travel lecture on "Meet-
ing Jews in Spain and Portugal."

Women's Program

The next session of Uniquely Ours, a
program for women by women, will
be held 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18,
at Machon L'Torah.
The presentation will include a
guest speaker, Mrs. Holly Pavlov,
director of She'arim College of Jewish
Studies for women in Israel, who will
speak on "Anger: Healthy Expression
or Selfish Indulgence?"
A dessert buffet will follow. There
is a $5 charge. Reservations are

Sholem Aleichem
Welcomes Performer

The Sholem Aleichem Institute is spon-
soring the 32nd annual Moishe Haar
Memorial Concert as a tribute to the
former principle
and director of the
institute.
The featured
artist will be Susan
Levitan, who will
present a
lecture/recital of
Yiddish songs.
The concert,
titled "Roots and
Susan Levitan
Wings: Yearning
in Yiddish Songs," is open to the public
with no admission charge. It will take
place at the Agency for Jewish Educa-
tion building 3 p.m. Sunday, June 7.

Luncheon Set

The Detroit Chapter of the Jewish
Women International will host its 55th
annual insr2Ilation and combined
Mother's Day luncheon at noon
Wednesday, June 17, at Farina's Ban-
quet Hall, 2485 Coolidge, Berkley.
The installing officer will be Ida
Nathan. The officers to be insr2Iled are:
presidium, Frita Roth Drapkin, Ann
Ginsberg, Alice Kaplan, Merle Perlstein,
Rita Weston; recording secretary, Pauline
Barak; fundraising, Gert Rosen; mem-
bership and financial secretary, Sophie
Aronovitz; corresponding secretary, Eve-
lyn Sheman.sky; mailing secretary, Lee
Levine; special gifts, Ann Ginsberg; pro-
gram and bulletin, Roz Alexander.

Bereavement
Support Group

Adat Shalom Synagogue will offer a
bereavement support group 7:30-9 p.m.
on three Wednesday evenings — June
10, 17 and 24 — at the synagogue.
The support group will be facilitated
by social worker Ruby Kushner, along
with the participation of Adat Shalom's
clergy.
The group is designed to provide a
safe and accepting place to unite and
diminish the loneliness of grief.
