For the first time ever, the annual Walk for Israel starts from the Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit's Jimmy Prentis Morris Building on 10 Mile, east of Greenfield, in Oak Park, and concludes at the zoo, 10 Mile and Woodward, in Royal Oak. Registration for the 4:30 p.m. walk starts at 4 p.m. at JPM. The free family program at the zoo includes a Jewish Experiences For Fami- lies-sponsored biblical zoo scavenger hunt, an Israeli art exhibition and live Israeli entertainment from Detroit's Partnership 2000 region in the Central Galilee. The event also features face painting, kosher food, story telling and a prize drawing. Shuttle buses will run to the JPM buildingfrom the zoo. Tickets are free, but are required to enter the zoo.
