Mrs. Adler was a social editor for the Huron Daily Tribune in Bad Axe. She was a member of the Child Study Club #2 in Bad Axe and a member of Shir Tik- vah. Mrs. Adler is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Allan Adler of Oxford, Arnold and Mira Adler of Garden Grove, Calif.; grandchildren, Phillip and Shannah Adler, Jana Dawn and Ben Lopez; great-grandchildren, Vanessa Marie and Brianna Nicole Lopez; nephews and nieces, Lawrence and Sari Biller, Milton and Sylvia Iral- son. CARL AUSTIN, of Farmington Hills, died June 1. He was a graduate of Wayne State University and the Curtis Institute of Music. A violinist, he played in all the major theaters in Detroit, with the Detroit Symphony and in recording studios. He was a contractor of musicians for the Masonic Temple and for recordings. He taught violin and music theory at Wayne State for many years. At the time of his death, Mr. Austin was serving his fourth term as president of the Detroit Federations of Musicians. He is survived by his wife, Emily Austin; sister, Lillian Golumbia of West Bloomfield; nieces and nephew; great-nieces and nephews. Interment at Beth El Memorial Park.
