Jenna and Dylan are the children of Sue and Jeff Mich-
lin, who are planning to return to Detroit in the coming
months.
We also extend congratulations to Julia Bayer of Oak
Park, who won our contest to draw a picture celebrating
Israel's 50th birthday. Julia, 10, attends Sunday school at
Temple Emanu-El. Look for her picture and photo on the
Dylan Michlin cover of the June 5 (that's next week's issue) AppleTree.
Jenna and Dylan, and Julia, win gift certificates to Bor-
ders Books. Thank you to all those who submitted entries!

Lions and tigers and bears and, oh my, lots of fun!
In honor of Israel's 50th anniversary, the Jewish Federation of Metropoli-
tan Detroit, Jewish Experiences For Families, the Jewish Community Center
and the Michigan/Israel Connection are sponsoring a free evening at the
Detroit Zoo.
The program begins with the Walk for Israel, 4:30 p.m. Sunday, June
14, starting at the Jimmy Prentis Morris Jewish
Center. At the zoo, from 6 to 9 p.m., partici-
pants can visit with zoo animals and enjoy a
festival featuring food, music and dance perfor-
mances, art exhibits, clowns, face painting and
a hands-on event called the Biblical
Zoo, with activities such as a scav-
enger hunt that connects animals
in the Detroit Zoo with the same
animals in the Torah. For infor-
mation, call the Israel At 50
hotline, 1-888-481-5943.
