Flowers The Reverend Kenneth Flowers, pas- tor of Greater New Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker at Temple Beth El's Shabbat services, 8 p.m. Friday, June 5. Reverend Flowers was previously pastor of the Messiah Baptist Church in Los Angeles where he saw his con- gregation through the upheaval of 1992. There, he also built a close rela- tionship with Rabbi John Rosove whose congregation provided a tempo- rary home to Flowers' church follow- ing damage sustained during the Los Angeles earthquake. He and his con- gregation have built a close relation- ship with Temple Beth El, worship- ping and working together and shar- ing seders in 1997 and 1998, each attended by nearly 500 members of the two congregations.
