Michigan Week Awards are Max
Sosin, to be given a Lifetime Achieve-
ment Award for decades of voluntary
service; Jason Horowitz and Joshua
Siegel who will receive Youth Volun-
teer Leadership awards.
Ian Isaac Allen, son of Rabbi Craig
and Diane Allen, graduated from
Wayne State University Law School.
Rabbi Marc Israel was recently
ordained at Hebrew Union College-
Jewish Institute of Religion, New York
City. Marc was bar mitzvah, con-
firmed and is a
graduate of Tem-
ple Beth El's reli-
gious school.

school, he served
as NFTY-Michi-
gan Region presi-
dent and on the
board of trustees

of Temple Beth
El. During his
college years, he was active on the
board of Hillel at the University of
Michigan. Marc served for the last two
years as student rabbi of the Bahamas
Jewish Congregation in Nassau. He
has been appointed director of congre-
gational relations for the Religious
Action Center of Reform Judaism in
Washington, D.C., where he resides.
Michael Ingber from West Bloomfield
was recently given the honor of being
named Greek Man of the Year at the
University of Michigan for showing
scholarship, leadership and service to
the community. Ingber also was elect-
ed in 1996 as one of the outstanding
new students at the university. He
received one of eight awards given to
top new leaders
on campus at the
University of
Michigan. This
year he was assis-
tant director of
U-M's first dance
marathon, which
raised over
$35,000 for Chil- Michael Ingber
dren's Miracle
Network. After
graduating this year, he will attend
Wayne State University School of
Medicine.
Kimberly Jo Jensen of Troy's Athens
High School was awarded $300 for
her entry in the 1998 Skirball Nation-
al High School Essay Contest by the
Michigan Chapter of The American
Jewish Committee (AJC). Jensen's
regional award-winning essay was
titled "The Evolution of Racism in
America."
Jeremy Salinger of Southfield has
assumed the presidency of the Labor
Zionist Alliance (LZA) of Metropoli-
tan Detroit. Salinger is a founding
member and first
president of'the
Yitzhak Rabin
branch of LZA,
member of the
National Execu-
tive Committee
and past delegate
to the World
Zionist Congress.

vice president of the board of Habon-
im Camp Tavor, located in Three
Rivers, Mich. A Ph.D. candidate in

has been awarded the Michel Fellow-
ship of the Federation Executive
Recruitment and Education Program
(FEREP). The scholarship will provide
