Generation Iff ay met December on May's turf. December held her own. In their last program of the year, on May 15, Hillel Day School sixth- graders and seniors from Jewish Federation Apartments, Fleischman Residence and the Jimmy Prentis Morris JCC spent a good part of the day at the Biitzel Center in a flurry of activity. They bowled, flew kites and hiked. They staged a quiz show. Students presented their partners with books about their lives. Topping off the event was a friendship circle and a candlelighting ceremony. "It was very interesting. You had a combination of the youngsters and the oldsters. They mingled so well. Everyone was pleased with the outcome," said William Israel, a Fleischman resident. The Dor L'Dor program pairs seniors with stu- dents for yearlong events, including a Passover packaging project and an interviewing session in which students take the histories of their partners. This year, about 85 students and 60 seniors part- nered up. The sponsors of Dor L'Dor are National Council of Jewish Women, the Marvin and Betty Danto Senior Camp Fund, Jewish Home and Aging Services and Hillel Day School. ❑ Above: Lizzie Seagle, Ann Lerner and Joanna Feldman slow down for a game of Bingo.
