Bar/Bat Mitzvahs

Jonathan Barth
Jonathan Eric Barth of Oak Park will
celebrate his bar mitzvah on Satur-
day, May 16, at Congregation Beth
Shalom. Jonathan
is an honor stu-
dent at Norup
Middle School,
and he plays
oboe in the
school band. His
hobbies are in-
line skating,
hockey and corn-
puters.
Jonathan is the son of Ellen and
Daniel Barth, and the brother of
Adam and Rachel. His grandparents
are Eva and Sam Taylor, Ann Barth
and the late Earl Barth.

Jessica Achtman
Jessica Faye Achtman will celebrate
her bat mitzvah with family and
friends at Congregation Beth Abra-
ham Hillel Moses
on Saturday, May
16. Participating
in the Shabbat
services with Jes-
sica will be her
parents, Andi and
Howard Acht-
man, and her
brother Darrin
Matthew. Her
proud and excited grandparents are
Mickie and Sam Orechkin of DelRay
Beach, Fla., and Esther and Jack
Achtman of Oak Park.
Jessica is an honor student at
Abbott Middle School in West
Bloomfield. Jessica's interests are ice
skating, reading, music, dancing,
movies and the computer.
Jessica's major interest and enjoy-
ment is Precision Ice Skating. She
skates on Team Elan from the
Detroit Skating Club in Bloomfield
Hills; Jessica has been skating for six
years; her team recently won a
bronze medal at the national compe-
tition.

Erica Colburn
Erica Beth Colburn will celebrate
her bat mitzvah on Saturday, May
16, at Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
She is the daugh-
ter of Michele
and David Col-
burn and the sis-
ter of Jenifer.
Proud grandpar-
ents are Ethel
and Benjamin
Siegal and Shar-
ron Colburn.
Erica is also the
granddaughter of the late Sherwood
Colburn. She is lucky to have great-
grandparents Vera and Harold Stern.
Erica is an honor student at
Orchard Lake Middle School. She
enjoys dance, skiing and swimming.
Her mitzvah projects included vol-
unteering at the Menorah House and
at Beth Hayeled's Nursery School.

Jodie Rosenbaum
Jodie Rosenbaum will become bat
mitzvah at Temple Kol Ami on Fri-
day, May 15. She is the daughter of
Jeffrey and Eliza-
beth Rosenbaum
and the brother
of Hallie and Jor-
dan. Jodie's
proud grand-
mother is Pearl
Gorman. Jodie is
also the grand-
daughter of the
late Faye Rosen-
baum.
Jodie is a seventh-grade honor
student at Walled Lake Middle
School. She enjoys soccer, dance,
and AOL.
Among her mitzvah projects,
Jodie planted trees in Israel, helped
learning disabled students in her
mom's classroom, donated babysit-
ting money to the Cancer Founda-
tion - and helped young children who
are speech impaired.
