The sanctuary of the Ann Arbor Friends' Meeting House resounded with the songs and prayers of proud relatives and many of the 38 families who belong to the Reconstructionist congregation. Four weeks later, in a small Canton church that was almost filled to capac- ity, another landmark rite of passage occurred.
