The Detroit Friends of Bar-Ilan University
as well as the University's faculty, Senate,
student body and worldwide friends,
deeply mourn the passing of Bar-Ilan's founder
Phillip Stollman,
of blessed memory
One of Bar-Ilan's earliest visionaries, he along with his brother and
sister-in-law, Max and Frieda Stollman, and a group of extraordinary
Detroiters, cultivated and nourished the University in its earliest days,
allowing it to become a major university of 25,000 students and the
largest center of Jewish education in the world.
Phillip Stollman needs no monument; his fierce care and compas-
sion for his people and for their education, as well as his family's
continued commitment to these values, serve as a lasting testament
to his invaluable contribution to Israel and to the Jewish people.
May his name be a blessing and continued inspiration to us all.
