Groves

Walled Lake Western

Strausz is captain of forensics and
a second and third place state
winner. She was a state finalist in
Future Problem Solving and
Odyssey of the Mind, where she
won the Ranatra Fusca Creativity
Award. She is a member of
National Honor Society and
Groves Performing Arts Compa-
ny. She will graduate from Tem-
ple Emanu-El religious school.
She will attend the University of
Michigan.

REID WAINESS

Country Day

Wainess is first chair percussion-
ist in. band and provided back-
ground music for the school
musical. He participated in the
first Teen Mission to Israel and
will complete his senior project
working at the Laker Education
and Youth Complex of Congre-
gation Shaarey Zedek. He has
been summa and magna cum
laude all four years of high school
and will attend the University of
Michigan.

Szlamkowicz is a member of
National Honor Society. She was
a member of the forensics and
golf teams, and Phi Beta Kappa.
She will be attending the Univer-
sity of Michigan in the fall.

JUDITH WAKNINE

Beth Jacob

Waknine, winner of numerous
school achievement awards, is a
National Merit commended stu-
dent, a semifinalist in the Michi-
gan State Alumni Distinguished
Scholars competition, and Phi
Beta Kappa. She is a hospital
pediatrics ward volunteer, as well
as head of her school art commit-
tee and an algebra tutor. She will
attend the Hebrew University in
Jerusalem.
