love being their mom.
I love the way Kayla is such a
free spirit; she sings and dances
whenever and wherever she pleas-
I es. I love the way she plops down
in my lap and is so free with her
1 kisses. I love to watch her
1 discover every new
thing and try to men-
: tally capture the
moment.
Joshua is 8 going on
1 8. He has a good
heart and amazes me
with his wisdom. He tries to
right the injustices of the world. I
love to watch him run like the
wind. He is a beautiful child and I
love the way he still lets me hold
him.

I To: liana
From: Claire Arm of South-
' field

My daughter was a beautiful child
— dimpled elbows, rosy cheeks,
golden bouncy curls. I loved her
1 very much.
Today that little girl has grown
i into a lovely young woman. She
is a devoted wife and the tender,
1 caring mother of six beautiful chil-
1 dren.
I love that woman today
.
because she has accepted the val-
ues and standards of her parental
home and made them the founda-
tion of the home she established
1 with her husband. In that home,
Jewish law and traditions are
taught, practiced, respected and
I cherished.
In that home, excellence in secu-
1 lar and Jewish education are on a
par in importance and emphasis.
In that home, duty and responsi-
bility toward family and communi-
ty are lovingly inculcated in each
I child.
I loved that little child — she
was a dream anticipated.
1 the woman she has become
she is a dream fulfilled.

To: Rena
From: Susie Rosenzveig of
West Bloomfield

What do I love about my sweet,
10-year-old Rena? There are s000
many things, and after
hearing today's fun,
you'll see.
No matter how
many times I've tried to
put on lip liner, the line
always seems to end up
below and above my lips.
During the day, Rena was in
my bathroom with the door
closed. Out she comes with perfect
lip liner and make-up, like she has
worked since birth at the Clinique
counter. And I didn't even know I
still had that color!
"Don't worry, Mommy. I'll help
you do yours, too," my sweet Rena
reassures me.
Later that day, Rena asks, "Where's
your leweiry box, Mommy — you
know that stuff you think is so ugly?"
A few minutes later my farpootzed
Rena comes out with these gaudy
rings that look beautiful on her small
hands, loud and heavy chains that
are gorgeous around her neck, and
chalushish pins that I wouldn't even
wear on Purim that look so pretty on
her sweater.
"Rena, you look so cute in all that
jewelry! If you like it, you can keep
it, sweetie."
"It's okay, Mommy. I'll wait for
your other stuff."
As the day went on I saw my
closet door closed. "Are you in
there, Rena?"
"Surprise! How do I look?"
"Rena, you're wearing my high-
heel pumps that I can't even stand
in and you look great. And that
dress is too short and too loud for
me and you know, you look
adorable. And that wild hat — you
look just gorgeous!"
My sweet, wonderful Rena brings
a sense of humor to life, and I love
her for it.
