Jason Miller, son of Bobbie and Gary
Miller, has been accepted by the Jew-
ish Theological Seminary into the fall
1998 rabbinical
school entering
class. This is a
four-year course
of study in New
York and an addi-
tional year in
Israel. Miller is
completing his
undergraduate
degree at James
Madison College Jason Miller
of Michigan State
University, where he is on the dean's
list.

Haifa Fakhouri and Florine Mark will
receive the Friends Community Ser-
vice Award from the American Arab
and Jewish Friends (AAJF) of Metro-
politan Detroit for their civic contri-
butions.

Israel Lecture
At The JPM

"The Mid-East Peace Process: What's
Next?" will be the topic of a talk
given by David M. Satterfield of the
United States Department of State
7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 14, at
Jimmy Prentis Morris Jewish Corn-
munity Center. The talk is sponsored
by the Dr. Leon and Hilda Lucas
JPM Israel Endowment Fund. The
lecture is coordinated by the Insti-
tute for Retired Professionals.
Satterfield is the office director for
Israel and Arab Israeli Affairs,
Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs. He
has been a career Foreign Service
Officer since 1980 serving in
many areas. The public is invited at
no charge to the lecture and recep-
tion.

Genealogists
Host Brunch

The Jewish Genealogy Society of
Michigan will host a brunch
11:30 a.m. Sunday, June 7, at the
Bloomfield Open Hunt Club, 405
East Long Lake Road, Bloomfield
Hills.
John Philip Colletta, author, lec-
turer and genealogist, will be the
special guest at the annual meeting.
Dr. Colletta will speak on "Visiting
Ancestral Towns in Europe: No
Package Tours Available."
Cost: $30 per person. Reserva-
tions are required. Contact Boomi
