Obituraries

Adamson. She was the beloved wife

of the late Eugene Sokolov; dear sis-
ter of the late Rose Silverstein.

HELEN STEIN, 93, of Southfield,
died April 29. Mrs. Stein was owner
and operator of Club 509 in Detroit
for over 20 years; she also owned
and operated Famous Door night-
club. She was a life member of B'nai
Moshe Synagogue, long time mem-
ber of Na'amat, Hadassah, Sinai
Women's Guild and Jewish Home
for Aged.
Mrs. Stein was survived by her nieces
and nephews, Walter Schwartz, Jeffrey
and Joan Schwartz, Barbara and Robert
Lindenbaum, Alan Lindenbaum,
Michael Lindenbaum, William and
Joyce Feinsilber, Pam and Robbie, June
and Ray Beck, Scott and Barbara Beck,
Rusty Beck, Mildred Wynbrandt,
Nancy and Paul Ferguson, Bobby Todd,
Brett Todd, Rochelle and Gerald Order,
Shari Order, Lisa Order, Ronnie Order,
Arlene and Lawrence Green, Randy
Green, Kevin Green. Mrs. Stein was the
beloved wife of the late Ernest Stein.

EDITH STURMAN, 97, of Oak
Park, died May 3.
She is survived by her daughters
and sons-in-law, Roslyn and Sidney
Schwartz of Oak Park, Elaine and
Alex Friedman of Southfield; grand-
children, Steven Friedman, Debra
and Michael Dean, Karen and Ira
Camen, Laura Friedman, Martin
Schwartz; great-grandchildren,
Sarah, Linda, Brittany, Erik, Breah.
Mrs. Sturman was the beloved wife
of the late George Sturman.

EDITH FISHER TARNOWSKI,
76, of Tamarac, Florida, formerly of
Detroit, died April 27.
She is survived by her husband,
John Tarnowski; brothers and sisters-
in-law, Leo and Ruth Fisher of Oak
Park, Art and Lil Fisher of Detroit;
many nieces and nephews. Mrs.
Tarnowski was the loving sister of
the late Harry Fisher, the late Sam
Fisher, the late Al Fisher, the late
Morrie Fisher, the late Millie Graff,
the late Rae Gilroy.

YALE UPFALL, 57, of Commerce
Township, died May 1.
He is survived by his wife, Kay
Upfall; parents, Henry and Dora
Upfall of Southfield; sons, Leslie
Upfall of West Bloomfield, Martin
and fiancee Kadee of Waterford,
Jason Upfall of Farmington Hills;
daughter, Debra Upfall of

Farmington Hills; stepdaughters and
stepsons-in-law, Sherri and Fred
Harbrueger of Walled Lake, Annette
Kleczynski of Walled Lake, Jennifer
and David Flores of Walled Lake;
sister and brother-in-law, Dina and
Dr. Barry Pinsky of Bloomfield
Hills; grandchildren, Amanda,
Constance.

MICHAEL WALLACH, 75, of
Bloomfield Hills, died April 28.
He is survived by his son,
Lawrence Wallach of West
Bloomfield; daughter, Donna Alpert
of Farmington Hills; fiancee, Faye
Ullmann of Bloomfield Hills; many
loving nieces and nephews. Mr.
Wallach was the loving father of the
late Benjamin Wallach; loving broth-
er of the late Harry Band, the late
Hy Band, the late Rose Youdelman.

MORRIS WEINER, 73, of
Southfield, died April 29.
He is survived by his wife, Fay
Weiner; brother, Nathan Weiner of
Rochester Hills; brother-in-law,
Gerald Goldin of Oak Park.

DR. JACK WEISS, 78, of Walled
Lake, died April 28. Dr. Weiss was a
family medical doctor with offices in
Warren and Sterling Heights. He was
an undergraduate at Wayne State
University and graduated from
Wayne State Medical School in
1944. Dr. Weiss was chief of staff
for many years at Grace Hospital
and South Macomb General. He was
a partner at the Warren Memorial
Hospital and clinic and Memorial
Medical Center in Sterling Heights.
He was a member of Maimonidies
and Kiroes Group.
Dr. Weiss is survived by his wife,
Lois Weiss; daughters and sons-in-law,
Ronda and Ken Music of West
Bloomfield, Linda and Jacovie Midler
of Flint; son, Douglas Weiss of
Waterford; grandchildren, Julia and
Shaun Music, Jamie, Michael and
David Midler, Tara and Robert Weiss;
sisters and brothers-in-law, Mildred
and Alvin Skelly of Sarasota, Fla.,
Shirley Foon Wiss and Meyer Wiss of
West Bloomfield; sister-in-law, Edith
Weiss. He was the dear brother of the
late Dr. Ralph Weiss and the late
Mary Robbins Lesser.

BEVERLY WINSTON, 71, of
Southfield, died May 3.
Mrs. Winston is survived by her
husband, David Winston; daughter
and son-in-law, Freddie and Alan
