Bar/Bat Mitzvahs
Yad Ezra and with JARC. Eli is a stu-
dent at Hillel Day School. His inter-
ests include dance, computers. Dur-
ing the summers Eli attends Camp
Ramah in Canada.
Deborah Rose
Deborah Elaine Rose will celebrate
her bat mitzvah on Saturday, May 2,
at the Birmingham Temple. Proud

Deborah is the
granddaughter of
Berta and John
Gardon, Shirley
Rose, and the late
Maurice Rose.
She is lucky to
have a great-
grandmother as well, Klara Gardon.
Deborah's most meaningful mitz-
vah project was assisting in the Sun-
day school classes. An honors student
at Berkshire Middle School, Deborah
enjoys reading, arts & crafts and par-
ticipating in a variety of sports. She
especially enjoys spending after-
school hours in gymnastics. Deborah
is looking forward to participating in
the Maccabi Games this August.
Rachel Phillips
Rachel Alyse Phillips will celebrate
her bat mitzvah on Friday, May 1, at
Temple Beth El. She is the daughter
of Dr. Eric and
Patrice Phillips
and sister of Jen-
nifer. She is the
granddaughter of
Jewell and Lester
Morris and Beat-
rice and Dr.
Irwin Phillips.
Rachel is an
honor student at
West Hills Mid-
dle School where she plays flute in
the band and is on the tennis and
soccer teams. Rachel also enjoys tap,
jazz and hip hop dancing. During the
summer she water-skis and plays golf.
Her mitzvah projects included the
Temple Beth El Coat Drive Give-
away, the MS Society readathon and
collecting stuffed animals for the
Orchards.
Chad Zamler
Chad Ryan Zamler of Farmington
Hills will be bar mitzvah at Temple
Shir Shalom on Saturday, May 2.

Chad is an honors student at
Dunckel Middle School. He is an
avid tennis player. Mitzvah projects
included preparing food baskets for
the poor and care packages for AIDS
patients.
Chad's day will be made especially
memorable by the presence of four
generations of his family and relatives
from three states and Canada.

Friday, May 1, at

El. Casey is the
daughter of
Bunny and Jeff
Anbender. Proud

Dorothy and Martin Cooperman and
Arlene Anbender. Casey also is the •
granddaughter of the late Sam
Anbender.
Casey is an honor student at
Norup Middle School. She enjoys
singing, dancing and has acted in var-
ious community theater groups. Her
mitzvah projects included volunteer-
ing at the Temple Emanu-El nursery
school and participating in the Penny
Harvest.
