Plans Laid Out
For Maccabi Heads

On Sunday, April 26, delegation heads
for the teams attending this August's
JCC Maccabi Games met at the Kahn
Jewish Community Center in West
Bloomfield to go over the Games
agenda.
Six operational committee chairs
discussed the arrival process, opening
ceremonies, transportation, housing,
) medical and departure.
General Chairman Alan Horowitz
gave the tentative schedule for the
week and the responsibilities for the
delegation heads.
The chairs of the social activity and
hospitality committees also spoke
about their areas.
Volunteers and host families for the
Aug. 16-23 Games are still needed.

Tourney

The Glen Oaks Golf Course will be
holding a junior golf tournament on
Tuesday, June 16, as a qualifier to the
state and national tournaments.
Golfers need to be registered by
June 5. The fee is $25 for 18 holes,
lunch and a golf towel. The event

As part of USA Tennis Month, the
Kahn Jewish Community Center in
West Bloomfield will host free wheel-
chair tennis lessons on May 30. Local
teaching professionals will be giving
instruction.

The month is kicked off by USA
Tennis Day on May 9. Over the course
of the 21 days, 38 facilities around the
Detroit area will be offering free tennis
lessons for kids and adults.
