Parliament
Of Religions

The Campus Ministries, in collabora-
tion with the Concentration in Reli-
gious Studies, the Department of Phi-
losophy, and the Department of Sociol-
ogy at Oakland University, initiated the
first Detroit Parliament of World Reli-
gions to be held April 29 — May 1 at the
university.
Representatives of different religious
organizations in southeast Michigan will
participate. The focus of this first parlia-
ment will be religious traditions and
modem needs: focus on the family.
Admission for the complete two-day
program is $32 with reduced rates for
selected individual events for those
unable to participate in the full two-day

The Reverend James Lyons, of blessed
memory, was to address the topic
"Where do we go from here?" at the
Shaarey Zedek Men's Club breakfast
9:30 a.m. Sunday April 26, at the syna-
gogue. His assistant director, Rabbi
Amy Brodsky, will address the same
topic, which includes the future of the
Ecumenical Institute.
A complimentary breakfast will be
served. The public is invited.

JFS Hosts
Parents Workshop

Jewish Family Service will hold a three-
session workshop for first-time expec-
tant parents called "Shalom Baby!" 10-
11:30 a.m. April 19, 26 and May 3, at
the Jimmy Prentis Morris Jewish Com-
munity Center.
A fee of $45 per couple includes
refreshments and workshop materials.

Care Connection is a new, fee-based service that assists older adults who want to
remain in their home but who would feel more comfortable receiving assistance
with aspects of their daily living.

plan to help maximize their independence. Dfflically, a case manager then monitors
the plan to ensure that the older adult is continuously receiving the kind of care
he/she needs.
