During services on Shabbat morning,
May 2, Congregation Shaarey Zedek
will honor Leonard P. Baruch, who is
retiring as executive director of the syna-
gogue. Following services, a kiddush
luncheon will be given in his honor.
Mr. Baruch
assumed the posi-
tion of executive
director in 1990,
coming out of
retirement to offer
his assistance on an
interim basis; he
then accepted a full-
time position. His
efforts on behalf of Leonard Baruch
the development of
the Applebaum Jewish Parenting
Center, the merger with B'nai Israel
and the most recent completion of the
Laker Education Complex are examples
of his accomplishments. He will con-
tinue as executive director emeritus

beginning May 1.
