Mrs. Schwartz is survived by her
son and daughter-in-law, Dr.
Lawrence and Sharon Schwartz of
Bloomfield Hills; grandchildren, Nan-
cie, Adam and Elizabeth Schwartz; sis-
ter, Rachel Tobe of Southfield; broth-
er-in-law, Arthur Schwartz. She was
the beloved wife of the late Solomon
Schwartz.
Interment at Adat Shalom Memori-
al Park. Contributions may be made

SAM J. SCHWARTZ, 92, of Detroit,
died April 14. He was known as "Five-
Iron Sam." He started as a caddy at
Rogell Golf Course/Old
Redford/Phoenix club in 1917. He
worked as a league starter for 30 years,
up to the present. He was respected at
Rogell for 81 years and the course is
dedicating the first tee in his memory.
He is survived by his sisters,
Gertrude Burston of Southfield, Ethel
Klavons of Southfield, Sophie Kelton
of Grand Rapids; nieces and nephews,
Alice Goldberg, Barbara (Baker)
Urdan, Mildred Grandon, Shirley
Friedman, Michael (Phyllis) Kelton,
Roger (Diana) Richmond; great-nieces
and great-nephews. He was the
beloved brother of the late Belle
Goldfeder and the late Harry
Schwartz.
Services were held at Beth Moses
Cemetery Chapel followed by inter-
ment in the cemetery. Contributions
may be made to a charity of one's
choice. Arrangements by Dorfman
Funeral Direction.
TOLA SCHWARZBERG, 80, of
Southfield, died April 20. She was
born in Germany. After surviving
Auschwitz, she was reunited with her
husband and came to Detroit in 1950.
The couple worked together as propri-
etors of Schwarzberg's Kosher Meat
and Poultry, first on 12th Street in
Detroit and then, from 1955 to 1973
on Nine Mile Road and Parklawn in
Oak Park. After her husband's death,
she devoted herself to being a volun-
teer at Sinai Hospital and at Congre-
gation B'nai David. Her boundless
energy, devotion and perennial smile
will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughters
and son-in-law, Kay Schwarzberg of
St. Clair Shores, Helen and Kenneth
Stone of Bloomfield Hills; grandchil-
