held in great esteem ... Their opinions
were weighed in the planning stages of
design, menu and hundreds of other
important areas.
All these elements ... the experience
of the Meyersons, the basic training
and principles instilled by their father,
the careful planning and consulta-
tions, the insistence on quality, went
into the creation of Trio at Franklin
Place.
Trio revealed an integrated complex
of dining facilities, offering a wide
variety of food and atmosphere ... Set
at different levels which could be
viewed from the massive lobby, the
three rooms each presented something
different for varied dining moods.

The saga of the
House of Blue
Lights.

The exterior design of vertically
grained redwood and cranbrook buck-
skin brick combined warm materials
with a modern design ... A brightly lit
entrance canopy reached by a circular
drive welcomed guests.
Trio at Franklin was part of a six-
acre complex which included a 400-
car parking lot and a six-story office
structure.
The epicenter, Trio at Franklin, was
a fancy way of saying, "That's where
the action is."
Planned growth ... office buildings,
housing, apartments, shopping centers
and restaurants were all in the Silver
Triangle.
There wasn't an important spot in
the Detroit region more than a half-
hour away from the Trio ... including
downtown Detroit, New Center area,
Ford Motor headquarters in Dear-
born, AMC headquarters, Prudential
Town Center, Metropolitan Airport
and the then new Pontiac Silverdome.
The Trio at Franklin Place never
achieved the success enjoyed by
Buddy's on 12th and Clairmount ... or
the Scotch 'n Sirloin ... But it is fond-
ly remembered by many.

Edgewood Country Club, Commerce
Township, at a party by daughter and
son-in-law Loretta and Jack Gold, and
