Throughout decades of struggle and
achievement, the Jewish community
of Detroit has stood at Israel's side.

Together we have mourned the

losses of her young men and women
in war. To ether we have rejoiced in her

g

victories -- the rescue and homecoming

from lands of dispersion, the advances in

science and technology, the slow, often
painful moves toward peace.

We have shared our pride in the emergence

of a strong and self-confident people from
the ashes of the Holocaust. And we have

helped build a nation.

Fifty years after the establishment of the
reborn Jewish State, the Jewish communit y

of Detroit remains steadfast as partner
and as family.

Today and forever, we are one.
