Obituaries

DOROTHY ABRAMSON, 81, of West
Bloomfield, died April 9.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-
in-law, Daniel and Jane Abramson of West
Bloomfield, Richard Abramson of Detroit,
Michael Abramson of Detroit, Dr. Marc and
Susan Abramson of Franklin; daughter, Doris
Wolff of Berkley; sister and brother-in-law,
Eva Novick of Deerfield Beach, Fla., Betty
White of East Lansing, Helen and Norman
Wachler of Bloomfield Hills; grandchildren,
Jeff, Robert, Jim (Becki) Wolff, Zachary,
Aaron and Matthew Abramson. She was the
beloved wife of the late Israel Abramson; sis-
ter of the late Albert Rood; grandmother of
the late David Wolff
Services were held at the Aaron Moshe
Cemetery in Mt. Clemens.

MILDRED BARON, 81, of Southfield, died
April 12. Mrs. Baron was a member of B'nai
B'rith Women, a past president of Bowling
Association and a volunteer with the Red
Cross Blood Bank.
She is survived by her daughter and son-
in-law, Barbara and Ken Glinski of
Farmington Hills; sons and daughters-in-law,
Les and Gail Baron of Bloomfield Hills,
Bruce and Janet Baron of Madison Heights;
grandchildren, Michael Glinski, Dana
Glinski, Scott and Mari Glinski, Lori Baron,
Mark and Ryan Baron; sister and brother-in-
law, Laura and Seymour Shandelson of
Florida. Mrs. Baron was the beloved wife of
the late Sanford Baron.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.

ARLENE BURNSTEIN, 72, of Southfield,
died April 9.
She is survived by her husband, Donald
Burnstein; sons and daughters-in-law, Marty
and Barbara Burnstein of West Bloomfield,-
Robert and Kathleen Burnstein of Troy;
grandchildren, Jeremy, Scott and Jamie
Burnstein.

Cemetery Chapel in Birmingham.

MYER COHEN, 85, of Vancouver, Wash.,
died March 19.
He is survived by his daughter, Arlene
Heiser, formerly of Southfield of Vancouver;
son and daughter-in-law, Mitch and Lois
Cohen of Cherry Hill, N.J.; grandchildren,
Jodi and Chris Hinand, Ray and Denise
Heiser of Vancouver, David Cohen of
Langhorn, Pa.; great-grandchildren, Alex and
Zachery.
A private service was held in Vancouver.

LILLIAN GOLD, 83, of Southfield, died
April 12. Mrs. Gold was a medical librarian
at Sinai Hospital. She was a member of
Sholom Aleichem Institute, taught Yiddish
for Brandeis University, was a member of
Boulder Yiddish Vinkl and the National
Yiddish Book Center.
Mrs. Gold is survived by her daughters
/— and sons-in-law, Phyllis Gold Berenson and
Charles Wixon of San Francisco, Lolly Gold
and Marc Brown of Boulder, Colo.; son,
Victor Gold of St. Croix, Virgin Islands;
grandchildren, Sabrina Learman and Dean
Laabs, Adam Learman, Morgan Brown and
Jordan Brown; brother and sister-in-law, Dr.
Lionel and Florence Finkelstein of
Birmingham. She was the beloved wife of the

late Paul Gold; the dear sister of the late
Sylvia Chover.
Interment at Workmen's Circle Cemetery.

Mrs. Gross is survived by her sons and

LILA HALEM, 73, former Detroiter of
Rezeda, Calif, died April 11. She was a life
member of Bloch Chapter B'nai B'rith,
Women's ORT of Encino, Calif, past presi-
dent of both the Detroit Women's B'nai
B'rith Bowling Association and the Southern
California B'nai B'rith Bowling Association.
She is survived by her loving husband of
52 years, David; children, Michael and Fern
of Canoga Park, Calif, Gail and Dushyant
Trivedi of Ann Arbor, Sheldon and Catherine
of Geneva, Switzerland; sister, Ruth Coblentz
of Southfield; grandchildren, Adam and
Stacy, Shilpa and Rajiv, Amy and Jessica.

DONALD KELLER, 73, of Boynton Beach,
Fla., died April 10. Mr. Keller was a furniture
sales consultant.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon
"Shame" Keller; sons and daughter-in-law,
Mark S. Keller of Boca Raton, Fla., Dr.
David B. and Joyce Keller of San Diego; sis-
ters and brother-in-law, Nettie Horowtiz of
Southfield, Rita Grant of Mill Valley, Calif,
Edna Stotzsk of Southfield, Eleanor and Dr.
Jack Dorman of Beachwood, Ohio.
Interment at Beth El Memorial Park.

DR. IRVING KERSH, 91, of Southfield,
died April 6. After graduation from dental
school, he opened a small dental office in
Hamtramck. In 1950, he moved his office to
Warren and practiced there until he retired in
1983. At that time he started Metro
Publications, which produced the Metro
Passbook coupons; he retired from this busi-
ness in 1991. Dr. Kersh was an inventor with
many patents to his credit including a pants
hanger, a paper holder for packs of soda and
a nail clipper guard to prevent digging too
deeply under the nails.
He is survived by his wife, Belle Kersh;
sons, David Kersh of Southfield, Richard
Kersh of Miami, Fla.; daughter, Marilyn
