The foursome of Harold Edelson, Bob Barnett, Milt Ring and David Robin- son of Knollwood Country Club, whose combined ages total 280 years, defeated 30 other teams en route to winning the two-day Michigan Coun- try Club Challenge. Held in Las Vegas at The Desert Inn March 27-28, the team defeated golfers from local clubs Oakland Hills, Tam O'Shanter and Wabeek to win the trophy and keep it at their club for the next year. The foursome earned 93 points (using the modified Stableford scoring system in which players earn points for shooting under par on a hole), and defeated defending champion Dear- born CC by two points. OP Rec Classes Starting Registration continues for four Oak Park Recreation classes. A step aerobic class will begin on May 12, and will run every Tuesday for eight weeks. The class costs $26, and is available for all ages. A tennis class for beginners and intermediates is held May 26 at Shep- herd Park Courts. Classes are 90 min- utes,and run twice a week for five weeks and the cost is $40. Karate for youth and adults begins on Tuesday, April 21. The cost is also $40.
