Trendy is temporary, classic is forever...

That's what she did with the one-act,
two-character play she penned, called

Lies and Ashes.

"My play is about a mother who
smokes and a girl who's 5 1/2 and she
goes to school and her name's Ashley,"
explains Eisenberg. "And then the
mother smokes and the little girl keeps
telling her that it's bad for her and she
should stop. But [the mother] doesn't
stop and she lies and she says that she
did stop. But then, the girl comes
home and [her mother is] smoking,
and [the girl] says, 'Why are you
doing it?' And then she says, 'Well
you do it, so why can't I?' And then
the mother says, 'OK, no more lies,'
and [the girl] says, `No more ashes,'
and then we hug and that's the end."
When Eisenberg isn't performing,
she likes to play with friends and go to
the park and playground.
Her role in Paulie also helped
Eisenberg secure a spot in the CBS
television movie "Nicholas' Gift," with
Jamie Lee Curtis and Alan Bates.
In the Independent Film Channel
commercials, Eisenberg, as 6-year-old
Christie, directs Janeane Garofalo and
takes meetings with Matt Damon and
Edward Norton. The spots are
designed to parody the independent
film world.
According to a piece in Entertain-
ment Weekly, the young actress was
awed by the actors. After meeting
Damon, she remarked, "I told my
mom, if he was my age and my
height, I'd marry him."
Eisenberg lives in East Brunswick,
N.J., with her parents, Amy and
Barry; sister Kerry, 17; brother Jesse,
14; a cat and a dog.
The 5-year-old also has written
some songs.
