Mr. Morrison
is a Detroit-
born business-
man and corn-
munity leader
who sits on the
David and Deborah
board of the
Morrison
Jewish Corn-
munity Cen-
ter; and is a co-chairman of the Oak
Park JCC. Morrison helped establish
the Bais Chabad Torah Center in West
Bloomfield and the Huntington Woods
Minyan and is a leading supporter of
BCM High School. Deborah is an
accomplished jewelry artisan.
Guest speaker for the evening is
Rabbi Zalman Posner of Nashville,
Tenn., one of America's senior congre-
gational rabbis.

Machon Hosts
JudaiCollege

Machon L'Torah, the Jewish Learning
Network of Michigan, will open up the
six-week spring semester of JudaiCol-
lege educational program, starting 7:15
p.m. Tuesday, April 28, at the JPM
JCC. Rabbi Avraham Jacobovitz will
lead the lecture on "Six Short Steps to
Basic Judaism." For information, call
Machon, (248) 967-0888. There is a
registration fee.
Machon L'Torah will offer a free five-
week crash course in basic Hebrew. Jeff
Perlstein will lead this series at the JPM
7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 29. Reser-
vations are required. For information

Hillel Marks
Independence Day

The community is invited to celebrate
Israel. Independence Day at a festival
hosted by Hillel Day School 4:45-8:15
p.m. Thursday, April 30. Ticket punch
cards will be sold at the event, with 20
punches for $5. Food and T-shirts will
be sold separately.
All proceeds from this event will go
directly to enrich educational programs
and the learning environment. For
