DETROIT JEWISH NEWS 'TN The Holocaust Memorial Center will remember the 6 million Jews who died in the Holocaust and Israel's victims of terrorism 1 p.m. Sunday, April 19, dur- ing the community's annual Holocaust commemoration held in the Kahn Jew- ish Community Center. The ceremony will feature represen- tatives of the Army Garrison unit at Sel- fridge Air National Guard Base, who will bear flags, and the Jewish War Vet- erans. A candlelighting ceremony will follow in memory of the 6 million. The candles will be lit by Holocaust sur- vivors and the children of Holocaust survivors. After a welcoming address given by Abraham Weberman, president of Shaarit Haplaytah, a number of speak- ers will address the assembly. The musical portions of the program will be provided by Cantor Chaim Naj- man of Congregation Shaarey Zedek and Cantor Sholom Kalib on the piano. Shari Ferber Kaufman and Jamie Kras- man will perform the recitations. Following the Memorial Academy, a prayer service and an individual yahrtzeit candlelighting ceremony will be held at the Eternal Flame in the Holocaust Memorial Center.
