Both swimmers swam in the 65- to 69- year-old division. Sid, who has been swimming since he was 15, took silver in the 50-yard backstroke in 33.18 and gold in the 200 freestyle in 2:10.46. Both Joyce and Sid were on the 200 mixed med- ley relay team, which won the gold medal in 2:28.26. Joyce was on the 200 backstroke relay team which won gold in 3:02.36. She finished second in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 45.19.
