opened recently on W. Nine Mile
between Coolidge and Rosewood in
Oak Park ... It is owned by Rafit
Dadu, with cousin Tony Aoracha as
chef ... Intimacy is a key, with Al-
Sahir seating only 45.
GLAD TO KNOW that the new
Oakland County Food Focus Group,
formed by restaurateurs and the Oak-
land County Health Division, is no
flash in the pan.
During the last meeting, March 30,
at Norm LePage's Big Rock Chop &
Brew, committees were formed and a
third session was scheduled.
Wonderful news that the folks are
working to keep this great alliance
together ... Everything is going so well
that anything done to hamper its
progress would be downright disgust-
ing.

beams and ballpoint pens. Before
pantyhose, dishwashers, clothes dryers,
electric blankets, air conditioners,
drip-dry clothing — and before man
walked on the moon.
"We got married first and then
lived together. How quaint can you
be?
"We thought fast -food was what
some folks ate during Lent, and outer
space was the back of the local theater.
"We were before house-husbands,
gay rights, computer dating, dual
careers and computer marriages. We
were before day-care centers, group
therapy and nursing homes.
"We never heard of FM radio, tape
decks, electric typewriters, artificial
hearts, word processors, yogurt and
guys wearing earrings.
"For us, time sharing meant togeth-
erness — not computers or condo-
miniums. A chip meant a piece of
wood, hardware meant hardware, and
software wasn't even a word.
"In 1940, 'Made in Japan' meant
junk and the term 'making out'
referred to how you did on an exam.
