to greet their charges
and bring them home.

n those last minutes after 3
p.m. that divide work and play
for students at Hillel Day
School, a welcome brigade
patiently gathers in the halls and
parking lot.
As they wait for the bell that will
usher their children into the land of
snacks, fun and — oh, yeah —

homework, the parents bide their
time by reading, chatting, catching up
on school news and maybe even shar-
ing a little gossip.
Finally the parade of backpack-
bearing youngsters emerges with their
news, teachers' notes and empty
lunchboxes, ready to board the par-
ent-chauffeured carpools home.
