In The Dough

Jordan Vale, 4, of New Hudson,
rolls out the dough to make
matzah at the Matzah Factory,
next open on Sunday, April 5, in
the Kahn Jewish Community Cen-
ter in West Bloomfield. Tours start
at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, with the
last tour at 3:15. Participants
learn how traditional shmurah
matzah is made. They receive a
baker's hat and bake their own
piece of matzah. They also can
grind wheat from kernels and cre-
ate Passover gifts. Admission is $3
per child; accompanying adults are
free.

home hospitality for Passover seders.

Family Program

Congregations B'nai Moshe and Shir
Tikvah will hold a joint family educa-
tion program 10 a.m.-noon Sunday,
April 5, at the Agency for Jewish Edu-
cation.
Kindergarten through seventh grade
students and their parents will continue
to explore the connections between

for young people who have completed
the first year of college. These scholar-
ships enable the awardees to study at
Israeli institutions of higher learning.
The Harry and Sarah Laker Israel
Youth Scholarship provides for a $2,500
grant; the Samuel and Dora Kobaker
Memorial Scholarship offers a $1,500
grant; the Robert and Gertrude Berman O
Scholarship provides a $1,500 grant.
To qualify, the applicant must be
presently attending a college or universi-
ty. The application deadline is May 14.

Washington University will discuss
"Trends in Contemporary Jewish Liter-
