DECIDE ITS SECURITY NEEDS.

or 25 years, since the Yom Kippur War, the U.S. has sought to bring peace
between Israel and the Arab world. In all those years, every American administra-
tion has taken care not to second-guess the details of the security of Israel.

Only the Israel Defense Forces can decide which terrain and deployment areas will
make Israel defensible. The U.S. must continue to be a facilitator in the peace process,
but it cannot impose solutions on Israel.

On January 17, 1997, former Secretary of State Warren Christopher put it well:
"The key element in our approach to peace, including the negotiation and
implementation of agreements between Israel and its Arab partners has always
been a recognition of Israel's security requirements.

"Moreover, a hallmark of U.S. policy remains our commitment to work cooperatively
to seek to meet the security needs that Israel identifies."

THE U.S. MUST NOT GO BACK ON ITS PLEDGE TO ISRAEL!
