"Mommy,
where
will we
sleep
tonight?"

What words can be more painful to a
mother's ear?

Anyone who thinks the economic boom has brought prosperity to

everyone should know that the Jewish Family Service received 39

emergency requests for help with housing the first three months of

this year. That's a jump of 300% over the same three months last year.

The Jewish Federation's human service agencies know the people

behind those numbers—real people having a rough time.

Your contribution to the Allied Jewish Campaign provides emergency

financial aid for medical care, transportation, food and clothing. Also

counseling and loans to cover college tuition that can make the differ-

ence between despair and hope.

All of these services are provided by agencies of the Jewish Federa-

tion of Metropolitan Detroit. But they cost money. Can we afford to

provide them?

Can we afford not to?

You decide.

Please make your pledge to the Allied Jewish Campaign now.

This spring, an Israel 50th Anniversary Scroll of Honor will appear in The Jewish News
in tribute to our partnership with the people of Israel. To be included in this
alphabetical listing of all contributors of $18 and more to the Campaign,
please fill out the form below and return it now to: 50th Anniversary Scroll
of Honor, PO Box 2030, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48303-2030.
