Dr. Kapen will present a talk in
Hebrew on, "The Amazing World of
Sleep." Dr. Kapen is an expert on
sleep disorders and is one of the pio-
neers in the field of sleep research.

education classes at Temple Israel is

Frankel Center
Lecture, Symposium

The Frankel Center for Judaic Studies
in Ann Arbor will present Brian
Horowitz, assistant professor of Russian
and Judaic studies at the University of
Nebraska, noon Wednesday, March 25,
giving a lecture titled "The Creation of
Russian-Jewish Identity: Culture and
Society Under the Czars", at the
Salinger Resource Center, 3040 Frieze
building, Ann Arbor.
In this talk, Horowitz will discuss
the construction of a dual identity in
the late tsarist Russia.
The Frankel Center also will pre-
sent a symposium titled "Israel at 50:
Academic Reflections and Analyses"

1-4 p.m. Sunday, March 29, in Ann
Arbor. University of Michigan Pro-
fessors Todd Endelman, Zvi Gitel-
man, Raymond Tanter and U-M
Ph.D. candidate Deborah Starr will
speak.

The JARC Children and Family
Division, incorporating the Keshet
Family Support Program, serves Jew-
ish families who have children with
any type of disability through par-
ent-to-parent contact, informational
programs, support groups, referrals.

Support Group

SPACE for Changing Families, a
non-sectarian community service
project of National Council of
Jewish Women/Greater Detroit Sec-
tion, is accepting registration for a
near-death-experience support
group.
SPACE will offer a four-week sup-
port group beginning 7-9 p.m. Tues-
day, April 7, at the SPACE office,
