JCC Exhibit
Captures Past

Jewish organizations and agencies,
past and present, are invited to par-
ticipate in an exhibit depicting the
100-year history- of the organized
Jewish community.
The exhibit, which will be part of
the centennial celebration of the
United Jewish Foundation and Jew-
ish Federation of Metro Detroit, will
open on Nov. 29, at the D. Dan and
Betty Kahn Jewish Community Cen-
ter in West Bloomfield.
Items of historic value are request-
ed to be loaned for the exhibit.
These include: programs, pho-
tographs, invitations, annual reports,
flags, banners, uniforms, gavels,
minute books and records. Of special
interest are items that relate to the
founding of an organization or
agency.
Exhibit designer Joe Hines, who
previously was affiliated with the
Edison Institute at Greenfield Vil-
lage, will select pieces that are signif-
icant to telling the community's
story.
Organizations, agencies and
individuals who have an item to lend
to the exhibit should call Sharon
Alterman, Jewish community
archivist, at Federation, (248) 642-
4260. Deadline for submissions is
April 2.
