The Shaarey Zedek Cultural
Commission will sponsor a special
lecture and slide presentation by
Maurice Parrish 8 p.m. Wednesday,
March 25, at the Shaarey Zedek
Southfield campus. His topic will be
"The DIA ... Serving the Entire
Community."
Parrish was the deputy director of
the DIA from
1989 through
August 1997.
Then he was
appointed as
interim director
replacing Samuel
Sachs. Parrish has
been responsible
for operations,
development and Maurice Parrish
implementation
of operating policy; and he also coor-
dinated development of the muse-
urn's $73 million master plan for
renovation.
There is no charge for this event.

Twerski is the
1998 Gary
Davidoff
Memorial
Lecturer in
Rabbi Twerski
Jewish Medical
Ethics and will
speak on "Alcoholism, Drug Abuse
and the Jewish Community."
Twerski is the founder and
medical director of Gateway
Rehabilitation Center, a not-for-
profit drug and alcohol treatment
center in western Pennsylvania, cited
nationally as one of the 12 best drug
and alcohol treatment centers by
Forbes magazine.
A reception will follow the lecture
and is free and open to all.
