Plans Meetings

Aish Ha'Torah of Metro Detroit will
sponsor a program to provide partici-
pants with the know-how and tools
they need to have a meaningful Passover
7:30-9:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 17 and
24, at Hadassah House in West Bloom-
field.
Rabbis Alon Tolwin, Michael Berger
and newly appointed director Tzvi
Hochstadt will guide participants
through the hows and whys of this year-
ly event. The first session will go
through the basics of the seder. Tips will
be given on how to keep everyone inter-
ested with stimulating questions, props
and other special effects.
The second session will delve into
the mystical concepts and personal
growth tools. They will provide short
explanations of the symbols on the
seder plate and the contents of the Hag-
gadah.
Participants will receive the Aish
Ha'Torah Haggadah supplement and an
audio tape of Cantor Najman teaching
the songs and readings of the Hag-
gadah.
The workshops are sponsored by the
Michigan Radiology Group. Each ses-
sion will be $10. Call Aish Ha Torah to
register, (248) 737-0400.

In honor of our community's partner-
ship with the people of Israel, donors to
the Jewish Federation's 1998 Allied Jew-
ish Campaign will receive special recog-
nition in an Israel 50th anniversary
commemorative scroll to be- published
at the end of the Campaign.
Anyone who has not yet contributed
to the Campaign will have an opportu-
nity to do so during Days of Decision,
March 22-April 6, a special communi-
ty-wide effort to close the single largest
fund-raising appeal on behalf of Jews
here in Detroit and around the world.
New donors to the Campaign will
see their gifts doubled, and increases in
contributions from veteran donors will
be matched dollar for dollar by the Blu-
menstein/Hermelin Campaign Chal-
lenge Fund. An easy way to make a
first-time Campaign gift is through the
Chai Campaign, which encourages gifts
of $18 or multiples of $18.
To volunteer for Days of Decision or
to make a pledge, call Leonard Milstone
at Federation, (248) 203-1457.

MJAC Offers
Pesach Packages

The Michigan Jewish AIDS Coali-
tion will acknowledge and offer sup-
port to Jewish people living with
HIV/AIDS and their families during
the Passover season with a Passover
package and/or the opportunity to
attend a local congregational seder.
The package will contain items
such as candy, gefilte fish, matzah,
and other kosher-for-Passover prod-
ucts. These packages may be picked
up at the MJAC office or mailed to
an individual anywhere in the U.S.A.
For those who wish, packages can be
provided confidentially to protect the
privacy of the individual or family.
Additionally, there will be no charge
to enjoy home hospitality at a nearby
congregational seder for Jewish peo-
ple living with HIV/AIDS that wish
to fulfill their obligation.
For information about this project,
to order a Passover package or to find
out about a reservation at a congrega-
tional seder, call the MJAC office,
(248) 594-6522, by March 20.
