A businessperson interested in sign-
ing a deal with another could test the
other's voice to find out whether he
really intends to supply a product or
service on time; checking out a used
car or second-hand apartment would
be much safer if deceivers were filtered

Israel, Taiwan
Pledge Cooperation

Jerusalem (JPFS) — Israel and
Taiwan signed a protocol for cooper-
ation in advancing investments.
Under the agreement, business dele-
gations from both countries will
meet and hold seminars aimed at
encouraging Taiwanese investment
in Israeli high-tech, Industry and
Trade Ministry Director-General
Dov Mishor said.
Discussions on advancing economic
cooperation were held at the third
annual Sino-Israel Economic and
Technological Cooperation
Conference. The conference is to be
held in Taiwan next year.

Petah Tikva
Walmart Contract

Jerusalem (JPFS) — A Petah Tikva-
based textile company, Yaffit Model,
has won an initial $1.5 million con-
tract for the supply of sweaters and
T-shirts to U.S. retailing giant
Walmart.
Company CEO Moshe Mulayim
said the order is a test run, and
Walmart plans to purchase another $7
million of goods from the company
later this year.
