the Dodge Viper and Plymouth
Prowler.
MAIL DEPT. ... from Max Baskin,
in Boca Raton, Fla. ... "You men-
tioned (Mystery Muncher, Feb. 20)
that American Motors was the first to
introduce the Gremlin as a subcom-
pact car. In 1934, I worked at the Jef-
ferson Chrysler plant. Across the street
from Chrysler was Continental
Motors and they built the first corn-
pact car in 1934."

Marvin's got all kinds of odd things
at his nationally-noted museum, but
this is the first time he's done anything
on his body ... I think.

"I would like to share with you a
red Chilean Merlot I recently discov-
ered and enjoyed.
"Now served by the glass at Golden (j/\
Mushroom is Chateau la Joya Merlot
1996.
"The wine is aromatic, with a sweet
nose of fruit jelly. It offers very gentle
tannins to the taste, with delicious
black cherry aromas and a mouthfill-
ing fresh and spicy aftertaste.
"This is a wine both the connois-
seur and novice will fully enjoy. I rec-
ommend serving it with Mediter-
ranean type cuisine. Roasted vegeta-
bles on crispy eggplant bread and
chevre cheese sandwich is a stunning
combination bursting with flavors.
"Another great association would be
with chicken or veal." ❑
