Shir Tikvah
Has New Home

The congregants of Congregation
Shir Tikvah will march Torahs to the
new building on Northfield Parkway
9:15 a.m. Sunday, March 15.
People will gather at
Northminster; a short service will
begin at 9:30 a.m.
A short ceremony will be conduct-
ed at the new building, 3900
Northfield Parkway, after which con-
gregants will proceed to Shir Tikvah's
annual Purim Carnival at the
Rochester Community House.
The megillah will be read, a Purim
play will be staged, children's games
will be played with prizes for the
winners. Shir Tikvah's teen youth
group, TATY, will have hot dogs,
chips and beverages for sale and there
will be an ice cream bar open as well.
Anyone wishing to bring a lunch may
do so. For questions or directions,
call the Temple Administrator, (248)
619-9669.

Beth Shalom
Purim Doings

Congregation Beth Shalom will hold
its annual Purim carnival noon-3
p.m. Sunday, March 8. The first 300
kids and adults attending dressed in a
costume will receive a special gift. A
special feature will be a "jail lockup."
Food will consist of pizza, cotton
candy, Good Humors and hamen-
taschen. A special presale of tickets
for the games and food are available
at the synagogue office at 5 for $1.
The day of the carnival, tickets will
be available at 4 for $1. A Purim raf-
fle also will take place. Raffle tickets
are available for $1 each or 6 for $5.
Raffle items include gift certificates
for plants, books and food.
The Beth Shalom Purim Mishtay
will be 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March
11. Dinner will be followed by the
megillah reading at approximately 7
p.m. Reservations are required for
dinner. The cost is $9 for adults and
$5 for children ages 5-13. Children
under 5 are free.
For information or to make reser-
vations, call the synagogue office,
(248) 547-7970. There will be a sep-
arate adult megillah reading. Services
are at 6:30 p.m. followed by the
megillah reading at 7 p.m. The
megillah will be read at 7 a.m.
