Purim Outreach
Lunch Planned

The Adat Shalom Synagogue Sister-
hood will hold its annual Sonia
Knopper Purim Outreach Luncheon
beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday,
March 10, at the synagogue. At that
time, the women will host inner-city
Jewish Detroiters and clients of
Kadima.
Children from the Adat Shalom
Nursery School will present a musical
program, and Hillel Day School
eighth-graders will help serve. Each
guest will receive a shalach manot bag
of gifts, donated by synagogue mem-
bers, to take home.

Women Plan
Special Service

Congregation Shir Tikvah's Sisterhood
will conduct a special Shabbat service
7:45 p.m. Friday, March 20, in celebra-
tion of its B'nai Mitzvah. The service
has been crafted to weave together the
historical and spiritual aspects of Shir
Tikvah's Sisterhood, including the mem-
ories of all sisterhood's past presidents.
The speaker for the evening will be
Barbara Shapira, president of Women of
Reform Judaism, District 10, of the
Federation of Temple Sisterhoods. The
service will be followed by an elaborate

Batya Group's
Purim Plans

Batya Chapter of AMIT Women will
sponsor a pre-Purim melave malka
8:45 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at the
Young Israel of Southfield. A buffet
supper will be served. Regular admis-
sion is $36 per person ($72 per cou-
ple). For donors, the cost is $50 per
person ($100 per couple).
Highlighting the evening will be a
Purim spiel directed by Marilyn Berris
Lantor and starring George Gelber-
man, Joseph Greenbaum, Seymour
Greenstein, Marty Guyer, Allan Platt,
Meyer Segal, Abe Selesny, Joey
Selesny, Larry Singal and Herschel
Wrotslaysky. Rochel Leah Peterson is
the accompanist.
