JN Wayne State University's School of Business Administration has endowed an Ethics in Business lecture series named for Paul Kelman of Oak Park, a retired accountant known through- out his career as a mentor, communi- ty leader and for maintaining the highest ethical standards in the pro- fession. The endowment comes on the heels of efforts by Kelman's friends, former students and colleagues Gerald Alvin, Mark Carney, Joseph Epel, Robert Hague, Edward Rosenbaum and Neal Zalenko. These men, who organized a committee to honor their mentor, raised more than $60,000 to launch this lecture series. Price Waterhouse LLP partner Lawrence Ponemon, a leading authority on business and professional ethics, pre- sented the first lecture in the Paul Kelman Ethics in Business series to WSU accounting Paul Kelman students, fac- ulty, staff and alumni in January. A luncheon honor- ing Kelman and recognizing the donors who made the lecture series possible followed the presentation.
