caring for a sick mother. "It was my
exercise, social life, therapy," she says.
"I think I am sane because of [danc-
ing]."
Now, she dances four or five times a
week. "That's what keeps me going."
Dance lessons range in price from a
$99 Stardust special for three lessons to
$50-$65 per private lesson. A Stardust
class runs $7 per person, and three
hours of open dancing costs $7.
For the past couple of years, Bob
Krall has driven from Warren to South-
field to dance at Stardust on Mondays.
Morning sessions attract retirees who
have daytime hours to dance, while
open dance and evening lessons attract
a crowd diverse in age.
Krall has always danced. "Dancing is
something you do the rest of your life,"
he says.
Farmington Hills resident Carol
Johnson agrees. "People don't know
what they're missing if they don't get in
[dance] class."
